(The Christian unreality show)
I see that Dan’s Facebook page has been infected with a virus that is working to contaminate other pages. I have been getting a flood of strange emails from many of you, which got me to thinking. What you may not realize is that many of your spiritual lives have been contaminated with the deadly virus of a spiritual pandemic that you are unknowingly transmitting to others.
As was prophesied by the Apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ concerning the end of this church age, a time of great error and deception has CREPT IN UPON the church. The seeds of heresy and apostasy that have been germinating and budding throughout the history of the church have in our time grown into a full bloom tree.
Heresy is (self-designed doctrines) that have been developed from mishandled truth. Apostasy is (a departure) from the true biblical faith that was once and for all delivered to the saints (Jude 3-4; Matthew 7:13-23; 1 Timothy 4:1-2; 2 Timothy 3:1-7; 4:1-4; 2 Peter chapter 2).
My friends: You must take responsibility for your own growth in Christ!
You are accountable before God to know what true biblical faith is (as it is written in context).
You are accountable before God to know sound doctrine (that which brings healthy spiritual growth).
You are accountable before God to be able to sort out The Truth of God’s word from the errors of men.
You must study the word of God for yourself following the literal, historical, grammatical, and synthesis principles of biblical interpretation, or else you will only SEE in the scriptures what you are TAUGHT TO SEE in the scriptures. Far too many professing believers neglect the study of God’s word, and instead, study only the doctrines of men that are fed to them blindly receiving them as The Truth, without diligently searching the scriptures to see if what they are being taught is really The Truth, as it is written and correctly interpreted (Acts 17:11).
What is this virus called that has infected so many in the professing church growing into a spiritual pandemic? It is called spiritual narcissm – selfism – self centeredness – all about ME-ism. It has been produced by the pseudo Christian false gospel of health – wealth – self-esteem – self-image and self-motivation (although biblically there is no such thing). This abominable teaching has created a people who are double-minded- self centered – worldly – CARNAL lovers of themselves and this world (2 Timothy 3:1-2, 5; James 4:4-5; 1 John 2:15-17), who have been taught that godliness is a means to great gain (1Timothy 6:3-10; 2 Timothy3:1-2a). The effect of this virus causes you to think in terms of YOURSELF and what YOU get out of faith in Christ, to bring YOURSELF greatness, notoriety, prestige, power, plenty, ease, comfort, pleasure, and SELFWORTH. The foundation of this condition is pride, self conceit, a sense of grasping, and destructive covetousness (1 Corinthians 5:9-13; 6:9-10; Ephesians 5:1-7; Colossians 3:5-7; Hebrews 13:5-6).
My friends: As a Christian the moment you have a SELF at all you have departed from the faith of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:14-15). When you put YOURSELF first, there is no room for you as servant, and CHRIST AS LORD. He is forced to take the place as your servant which He never will do (Romans 10:9a; 14:9; 1 Corinthians 12:3; Philippians 2:11). Do not be deceived; the worship of SELF is idolatry at its worst, because it trivializes God making Him a means to our selfish ends. (1 Corinthians 6:9-11; Galatians 5:16-21)
How do you know if you have been contaminated with this virus? What are its symptoms?
Are you a professing Christian who is desperately striving to become something in this world? Are you constantly chasing the mirage of some so called higher spiritual level/dimension (your best life in this world now, freedom from doubt and worry, extreme overcoming faith, positioning yourself for greatness, next in line for the blessing, this is your season, reaching your destiny, living the lifestyle of faith, realizing your dream with financial blessings pressed down shaken together and running over that you never seem to reach? You never will my friend, because that place only exists in the distorted imagination of those who teach it and profit from it (cf. Jeremiah 23:9-23).
Do you seem to fall short of true rest in Christ, with the fullness, peace, joy, and contentment that comes with it (Matthew 11:28; John 1:16; Ephesians 1:17; 4:13; Hebrews 4:1-16; 1 Timothy 6:6-8)? Do you strive to be a faithful sower of financial seed, and now believe that God owes you a return on your investment because you have been obedient? (Cf. Job 41:11; Romans 11:34-35).
If you can answer yes to any of these questions you are contaminated. Contamination comes from following worthless teachings that encourage and enable you to continue trying to gain Christ’s life without giving up the life that He died to rescue you from (the great exchange).
My friend, the real truth is this: you are on the broad road of Christian unreality with all of its emotional commotion wrapped up in a Christian package. The Christian unreality show stars pseudo Christian spiritual lives that have never been changed in the biblical sense (John 3:3-5; Roman 12:1-2; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Titus 3:5; 1 Peter 1:23), only made better by some Jesus being added in. Christian unreality (aka the lifestyle of faith) is the realm of non-biblical hopes and aspirations, striving to obtain, to achieve and to reach greatness in this world. It involves being faithful to the selfish ambitions of men, and making decisions and plans for which you have no biblical mandate, or real biblical promise attached to its fulfillment. And please know this: The road of Christian unreality does not lead to a real life In Christ. (Matthew 7:13-27; 25:1-13; Luke 6:46; Romans 8:8-14; James 4:4-5; 1 John 2:15-17).
Committed to the exaltation of the Lord Jesus Christ!
